I've been feeling a little down for a few weeks, but am finally starting to feel better. I think the anticipation of getting away to see family and friends in Iowa is helping me come out of the funk I have been in. Of course, now I have a cold/sinus infection going on, so that has kept us stuck in the house a bit lately. I am finally in to the 2nd trimester of pregnancy (15 weeks, 2 days as of today) and feeling better. I can finally eat again! Last Tuesday night, I felt the baby move for the first time. I felt it about 4 times. I had a few other times recently that I thought I felt it, but turned out to be gas, so I was skeptical this time, but it really was the baby. ;-) My next appt is in two weeks, so will update more then on how everything looks.
On Monday, I went to Costco and picked up a drink on the way home. Well, I was about a half mile from home and went to take a drink and the lid popped off and the whole soda fell over in my purse and a bit on the floor of the new minivan. Luckily I had been wanting a new purse, so this gave me an excuse to get one! :) I did not; however, think it was amusing that everything (including my digital camera) that was inside my purse got ruined or very sticky. I guess that will teach me I really don't need to cheat and have a little caffeine once and a while. :-/ I think being pregnant has made me really clumsy.
The kids are doing pretty good. It's hard to believe they are 23 months old now! Katerina has had a couple of mishaps lately involving a tooth and a concrete picnic table and a dresser climbing experience...oh and a toddler picnic table and nose experience too, but looks like all is healing. Anyone want to send me a bubble wrap suit for her??? Nikolai is going through a phase where he likes to hit and push his sister. He's been spending a lot of time in timeout lately so I hope this phase is short lived. He is really getting a pretty big vocabulary and has some two and three word phrases he is saying like "train no way" when his sister tries to play with his trains. The love the new minivan, mostly because it means they get to watch "Word World". Katerina is starting to be more and more vocal, but she's also becoming a bit of a drama queen at times. She also had her first toenail and fingernail polish this week. She sat so still while I put it on and gave me each finger to do. It is a really light pink so doesn't show up too well in pictures or I would have posted one.
I have one more week of my 3rd and final Wilton Cake Decorating class coming up this week. I'll be glad to be done and hope to use some of the things I have learned for Katerina and Nikolai's birthday cakes this June if I am feeling ambitious enough.
We're planning to take the kids to Old Bonnie Springs tomorrow. It's an old mining town that has some fun attractions now like a museum and a petting zoo. Hopefully the weather is nice and I will post some pictures on facebook early next week.

Back to Blogging...
When I was pregnant with the twins I started a blog that chronicled my pregnancy with them. After they were born I (not surprisingly) was too busy to blog. Now that we have #3 on the way, it's about time to get back to blogging I think. :) So, to get everyone caught up....
We are still living in Las Vegas. We've been here since September 2009. This is a new record for us in living in one place as we seemed to move every 12-18 months before this. Vitaly loves his job though, so as long as the company is located here...we will be too.
The kids are getting soooo big! Katerina is finally in 24 month clothes for the most part and Nikolai is in 24mo/2T size. I'm not sure how tall they are, we'll find out at their 2 year well check in June. Nikolai love trains, letters and numbers. He knows all the letters of the alphabet and can count to 15. He is a very lovey boy and gives hugs and kisses a lot. Katerina loves to color and climb on things, she is our little engineer and likes to figure things out. She loves to have "Piggy Tails" in her hair and is starting to like her dolls and carrying purses more. She's not a big hugger right now, but she loves to snuggle to mommy and daddy. They both like to wear hats finally too. Their favorite show is Word World on PBS. They get so excited when they see the opening for it that they throw their arms in the air and squeal really loud! They have a couple of other PBS shows they tolerate and also will watch Mickey Mouse once and a while, but don't get nearly as excited. Nikolai talks a lot and Katerina is finally starting to talk more as well. Her words are not as clear yet, but I can tell what she means. :-) They will be two in June...where did the time go.
As I mentioned, baby #3 is on the way! My EDD so far is 11-10-11. This pregnancy has been a little different than my last, and not just because it's only one baby this time. :-) Most of you know we struggled to get pregnant with the twins and it took us almost 3 years and lots of fertility treatments. This time around, my body cooperated and we got pregnant right away on our own. I had my first appointment at around 8 1/2 weeks and we determined that it was indeed just one baby...I made the nurse practitioner look all around to be sure no one was hiding. I have had lots of nausea and had troubles eating meals up until Tuesday when I asked my doctor for something for the nausea. Ever since then I have had almost zero nausea...yay!!! I've been a little more tired than usual of course, but overall everything has been going pretty well. Here are the pictures from our ultrasound two days ago.
The top left is a shot of the baby looking straight ahead (head is on the left side), kind of an alien baby shot. :-) Top right is the arm mostly. Bottom left is face, torso and arm. Bottom right is a profile shot. We got to hear the heartbeat for the first time (153 bpm) at the appointment which helped me breath a sigh of relief. The ultrasound tech told us she would guess the gender since it's too early, but her guess was only 60% towards one gender, so we'll have to wait for the next ultrasound to find out if I need to keep pink or blue stuff. :-) Hopefully we will start taking belly shots soon as I'm starting to show a little bit finally.
We'll be traveling to Iowa in June for the kids and our birthdays and so Vitaly can go fishing for a week in Canada with my dad again. Hopefully if those of you who are from Iowa are around we can get together. We'll be going to the park a lot if the weather cooperates and hope to be able to visit a lot of people. We'll be in town for just over two weeks this time! I can't wait!!!!
